The Oak Park Area Arts Council Presents Artful Object 2010 Fine Art Benefit Show and Auction

The Oak Park Area Arts Council (OPAAC) will present, Artful Object 2010, from 7:30-10:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010, in the Oilily Building, 103 Forest Avenue in River Forest, Illinois. The theme of this year’s event, Break the Ice! will be an avant garde evening of fine art, entertainment and edibles.

Artful Object 2010: Break the Ice!

The original artwork of area artists will be on display as part of the silent auction. The art is all original work and will showcase a host of disciplines in the silent auction. Cucina Paradiso has been selected to cater the event and promises to pull out all the stops with delicious food from their signature menu.

Artful Object is an annual fundraising event to help support three of the Council’s largest programs. In 2009, the Arts Council provided $41,175 in ArtsFunds grants to 31 organizations in Oak Park, Forest Park and River Forest. Since the program’s inception, OPAAC has granted hundreds of thousands of dollars to organizations for their art programs. Last year, the Council was also able to award five $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors to pursue their education in the arts, as well as hire six young artists for the summer teen arts employment program, Off the Wall.

Tickets to the event are $75/$130 couples=members and $85/$150 couples=non-members.
